Activity Day

In October we held our first Activity Day. Following on from the responses to our Gifts and Talents Survey earlier in the year, people volunteered to try out a number of acitivities including:

  • Helping the church - doing some DIY, gardening, painting and flower arranging,
  • Helping our community - by preparing for the next day's Grapevine lunch or doing some gardening for church members and our local school,
  • Enjoying drama, music making, indoor games and the first outing of the Christ Church Running Club,

All culminating in the Harvest Supper the same evening at which we had about 90 people sitting down to eat together and the Harvest Festival Service the next day.

Soaking evenings

Soaking evenings are on Mondays: 8th November at Christ Church and 22nd November at St Johns. More details here.

Gifts and Talents

'Gifts and Talents' is an important new initiative which was launched at Christ Church across all four services recently. The aim is to ensure that the church uses fully the gifts and talents of its members. This will mean that the church (and that's all of us) enjoy the benefits of others' God-given and God-glorifying gifts and also it will hopefully mean that the church can start new initiatives by tapping into the wealth of its members' talents. We are doing this because we believe that by encouraging people to use their talents this will enable people to become more fully the person God created them to be.

If you haven't filled in the Gifts and Talents Survey form please do so now.

Download it from here, fill it in and return it to Helen Hancock at church, or you can scan and send your response by email.
