Who's Who

Stephen Kuhrt has been Vicar of Christ Church since April 2007. Before that he was curate of Christ Church. Stephen is a member of the leadership team of Fulcrum, a group committed to working towards the renewal of the Evangelical Centre of the Church of England. He is the author of Church Growth through the Full Welcome of Children: The Sssh Free Church which tells the story of the development of the 9.30 service at Christ Church. Stephen enjoys watching and occasionally playing cricket, watching films of the 30’s and 40’s, reading about history and anything to do with Robin Hood. Married to Katie, who also leads Explorers at Christ Church, they have three children – Rebecca, James and Abigail.

Helen Hancock has been curate of Christ Church since June 2009 and combines this role with her other work as an in-house lawyer for a global computer distribution company based locally. She trained for ordination on the SEITE course. Helen enjoys keeping fit through running and cycling and spending time with family and friends. Married to Simon, who is one of our Directors of Music, they have three teenage children – Jonathan, Catherine and Imogen.

Carolyn Lucas has been curate at Christ Church since her ordination in June 2009. Married to Tim, who is currently the church treasurer, she combines this with her role as mother to their three girls: Emma, Katie and Sophie and her job as health visitor in North Kingston. In her spare time she loves reading, cooking and sport and walking her daughter's dog Alfie.

Ian Prior has been Honorary Curate at Christ Church since 1974. Ian is Director of Careforce which sends volunteers to work at churches and projects throughout the United Kingdom. Ian is married to Margaret who leads Women’s Own at Christ Church.

Nathan Larkin has been External Youth Worker at Christ Church since September 2008 and combines this part time role with undertaking study for an MA in Youth Ministry, at Kings College, London. From Northern Ireland, Nathan previously served as a Gap Year worker for the Oxygen youth project.

Elspeth Coke is a SPA (Southwark Pastoral Auxiliary) meaning that she has been especially trained and authorised to undertake pastoral ministerial within the parish. Married to Chris, Elspeth works at Church House in Westminster on the staff of the Council for Christian Unity.

David Loffman has been Churchwarden at Christ Church since April 2008. David teaches English and Creative Writing at a Further Education college in Twickenham and writes poetry. Married to Katy, who is training to be a Lay Reader at Christ Church, they have two children, Arran and Iona.

Sarah Parker has been Churchwarden at Christ Church since April 2008. Sarah is Office Manager for Oxygen, a local youth project supported by most of the church in the Borough of Kingston aiming to reach the young people of the area with the love of God. Married to Michael, they have four sons Tom, Tim, Sam and Joel.

Elizabeth Hill is Administrator at Christ Church and works in the Parish Office on Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings and both the morning and afternoon on Tuesdays. A D.Phil in Chemistry, Elizabeth is married to Steve, who is also our webmaster at Christ Church and they have two daughters two daughters, Catherine and Alison.

Monica Fulton has been Parish Secretary since 2005 and works in the Church Office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Married to Max, they have two daughters, Lucy and Rachael.

Lesley Longstone oversees all of our small groups which come under the banner of ‘Community at Christ Church’. Lesley is a Civil Servant working in the Department for Children, Schools and Families. Married to Paul who teaches at Christ Church school, they have three children Sophie, Sam and Joshua

David Taylor is Caretaker of Christ Church. A former English teacher, David enjoys theatre and is passionate about care for the environment.
