Our Mission Partners
Our Mission Partners
Our support for mission towards the rest of Britain and the World is coordinated through our Mission Support Group, currently chaired by Chris Davis. This is partly expressed through support for the following Mission Partners…
Bernie and Jo Dodd (Link Person at Christ Church – Tim Davis)
Bernie & Jo live in Hingham, near Norwich. After 26 years serving with Navigators in Africa, they have had a ministry in Europe since September 2002 requiring much travelling. Both serve on the NavEurope Leadership Team. Bernie followed Mike Treneer as the leader of this team in 2004 and also serves on the Navigators International Team. Their focus is to encourage national leaders and mission workers serving throughout Europe and in particular to coach and enable leaders in their ministries in Northern Europe. They have two adult children, Sarah and Rachel.
Guido and Linda Braschi (Link Person at Christ Church – Anna Angell)
Guido and Linda have lived in New Malden since 2007 when they began a new job of recruitment for East Asia both for short and long-term people based in the Greater London area. Their ministry began with eight years in Jakarta where Guido was involved in student ministry while teaching at a university. Linda was an elder in a local church, visiting families from the 1,500-strong congregation. Following that they spent ten years on the home side of OMF International, with responsibility for candidates and public ministries. In 2001 they returned to Asia to establish and lead the OMF team in Myanmar (Burma), and to work with the Burmese church in teaching and preaching, literature work and mercy ministries. They have three adult children and one grandchild.
Tom and Sandra (Link person at Christ Church: Ruth Henson)
Tom and Sandra (who is Swedish) live and work in the Arabian Peninsula. They have two children Becky and Sam, who attend a local school and nursery respectively. Tom and Sandra were commissioned eight years ago at Christ Church to work amongst Arab people. They seek to share the love of Christ with local Arabs and ultimately to see a national church planted and growing in the area. Over the first 5 years they set up an Arabic language institute and, whilst Sandra continues to work part-time at the institute co-ordinating the training of local teachers, Tom has relinquished his position as director, having fulfilled his primary role, and has just completed an MBA. Both Tom and Sandra are fluent in the local dialect.
Mike and Chris Treneer
Mike and Chris head up the work of Navigators International with Mike as President and General Director. They are based in Colorado Springs, though they spend much of their time in other countries. Before their appointment to the International Executive, Mike and Chris spent 24 years working with Africans and lived for 16 years in Kenya. One continuing priority for Mike and Chris is establishing a network to bolster each country and regional team: many have been working in relative isolation, particularly in the less developed countries. They also have a major pastoral role towards other leaders. They have three adult married children.
Simon and Jo-Ann Eastwood (Link Person at Christ Church: John Henson)
Simon and Jo-Ann grew up in Christ Church, New Malden. They moved to Wensleydale in 2002 when Simon took up management of the Jonas Centre at Redmire. The twelve log cabins are enjoyed by individuals and church groups and emphasis is placed on encouraging use by disadvantaged people who need a break. In 2009 the recession threatened operations. However God provided the impetus to review the work, and the crisis became an opportunity for even more families to benefit from an affordable break in the Yorkshire Dales. There are now plans to provide more units of accommodation and a new community building.
Jeremy and Rachel Nash (Link Person at Christ Church: Roger Parham)
Jeremy and Rachel live in Legmoin, Burkina Faso. Their main area of work is with the Dagari speaking people - preaching, evangelising and training Church leaders. During their period of service many new Churches have been established. The Jesus Film in the Dagari language has been particularly effective as a tool in village evangelism. They have worked for Mission Africa since 1996 after spending their first year of marriage preparing for mission work and spending time in Paris learning French. They have 3 children: Katie, Timmy and Toby.
Shelagh Wynne (Link Person at Christ Church: Sue Webster)
It has been our privilege to support Shelagh for the past 30 years - as a Missionary nurse passing on her nursing and administrative skill in Nepal, Bhutan, Israel and a short spell in Afghanistan, before returning to Nepal. She has served with several sending agencies and is currently based in Thailand, using her considerable cross cultural and personal experience in assisting mission. She is also actively involved in the local International Church.
